I wish I could remember where I found this game, but it was my favorite so far! The kids were on their absolute BEST behavior and singing like angels they wanted to be picked so badly.
I began with 6 boxes (I would recommend anywhere from 4-8, depending on your time frame) on the table. I asked the children to close their eyes and picture their most prized possession, their absolute favorite thing. When they opened their eyes I had a few share, when they did I immediately told them they needed to give it to me. Of course there were giggles, but I asked them how it would feel if I was serious? Maybe a little bit like Heavenly Father when he had to give up Jesus Christ for us? This is a great discussion, they don't see it coming and it really gets them thinking.
We then move on to the presents on the table and how we are going to "Give" during Singing Time today! I pick two of the most reverent to go choose 2 people from anywhere in the church house.....yes, anywhere! When they bring in their Special person (we had a lot of parents and siblings picked:) then they get to choose a box. Inside each box I have placed a candybar, pack of gum, etc and a song is on the lid. We give them the treat and sing them the song. It is GREAT!
Tip: The trick to keeping this moving is to always have a child out finding their person while we are singing to one in the Primary room.
